Reasons for a former AEW champion’s ongoing, unexplained absence from the promotion have seemingly been uncovered in a new report.

The star in question is Isiah Kassidy, one-half of the popular faction Private Party alongside Marq Quen. The duo returned as a prominent part of the programming after their yearlong hiatus, which ended in February. However, Quen’s injury from a couple of months ago set the team back. Although Kassidy had confirmed in a backstage segment that he would continue as a singles star, even he has not been seen on TV since.

While earlier reports suggested that Kassidy’s absence is not due to any injury and that he simply isn’t being utilized, a new report from PWInsider contradicts that notion, stating that the former AEW World Tag Team champion is indeed banged up and hurt.

Isaih Kassidy details Marq Quen’s injury on AEW Collision

On the March 28 episode of Collision, Private Party (Kassidy and Quen) faced off against Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia of the Death Riders in a losing effort. After the bout, Kassidy, in a backstage segment, gave insight into how Quen got injured, and the timeline for his return was unknown.

“Everybody keeps saying this one word, and that one word is change. Change this, change that, change, change, change, change, well, congratulations…Mox, you know what you did. We had this dance before. Last time we had this dance, you tried to take my hand out and you forced me to change. And guess what happened? We became tag team champions. Fast forward to last weekend, I’m forced to change again because you took out my boy. Now he’s out and I don’t know when he’s coming back. Now I’m all alone. Like you said, it’s swimming with the sharks, right? Yeah, swimming with the sharks. But you forgot something. I’ve been drowning my whole life. I know how to breathe down here. So listen, I’ll put it like this. I didn’t come this far to come this far. Best believe I’m going to eat because I’m starving for opportunity,” said Isaih Kassidy.

The Private Party has missed a lot of TV time in recent years. Here’s hoping the duo can go on a longer, more sustained run when they return to action in AEW.
