Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is currently available for pre-order on the Nintendo Switch 2. Scheduled for release on August 28, 2026, the Tarnished Edition is the definitive version of FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed action-RPG. The Tarnished Edition comes with all the previously released DLCs, including the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, as well as a host of new add-ons.
Surprisingly enough, Elden Ring is also one of the few third-party titles on the Switch 2 that is priced above the usual $60.

How to pre-order Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2
To pre-order Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2, follow these steps:
- On your Switch 2 system, head to the Nintendo eShop.
- Under the eShop, head to the Latest section and scroll down until you find Elden Ring.
- Or, you can search for the game using the Search tab.
- Once you find the game’s store page, click on it (press A) and then select Pre-order.
- You will have to confirm a payment method to lock your pre-order.
- You can pre-order using Wallet Credits on the eShop.
- Once the game is pre-ordered, it will show up in the Pre-orders tab of the Nintendo eShop.
- You won’t be charged for the game until it’s available for pre-load on the Switch 2.
Do note that you can cancel your pre-orders on the Nintendo Switch 2 at any time before the game’s pre-load date. Take note of the expected payment date of your purchase; this is the deadline for cancelling your pre-orders.
You cannot cancel a pre-order if you have already pre-loaded the game or downloaded its DLCs.
Is Elden Ring Tarnished Edition available for pre-order on other platforms?

Although the Tarnished Edition is coming to other platforms including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, it’s not yet available for pre-order. It should be noted that the Tarnished Edition for platforms other than the Nintendo Switch 2 only includes the add-on classes and Torrent skin.
On Nintendo Switch 2, Elden Ring is priced at $80, which makes it the first third-party base game to price itself above the usual $60-70. That said, it does include all the DLCs and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which somewhat justifies the price.
