WWE Superstars are gearing up for the biggest event of the summer in less than two months. Meanwhile, a veteran joked when asked about in-ring retirement.
Rey Mysterio has been in the industry for three decades and continues to entertain the audience whenever he’s inside the ring against a new or familiar face. The Master of 619 has been busier than before, as he’s the current general manager of AAA and commentates for their weekly show by translating it from Spanish to English.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking to The Undertaker and Michelle McCool on Six Feet Under, Mysterio and The Deadman discussed retirement, and Taker mentioned the year when he retired from in-ring competition. During their conversation, the two-time World Heavyweight and one-time WWE Champion joked he had 10 more years in him, and he’s covering his youth behind the mask. All three veterans laughed at Mysterio’s hilarious response to retirement.
“I’ve still got about 10 years then. I’m covering it all up,” Mysterio said.
Rey Mysterio on Aalyah’s WWE future
In 2020, Aalyah Mysterio was a regular on the weekly product as Seth Rollins targeted The Mysterio family on Monday Night RAW. Rollins and Buddy Murphy feuded with the family for around half a year and even moved to a different brand on WWE’s main roster. Unlike Rey and Dominik, Aalyah was an on-screen personality and was written off television when the storyline ended.
Speaking to The Undertaker and Michelle McCool on Six Feet Under, The Master of 619 addressed his daughter’s growth as an in-ring performer following their training last year. Mysterio is confident that Aalyah will soon start her WWE journey at the Performance Center. While the veteran didn’t mention a date, the female star could start sometime this year.
Lately, Rey and Dominik Mysterio have been playing a crucial part in AAA as The Master of 619 is the current General Manager of the show, and Dirty Dom is the AAA Mega Champion. It’ll be interesting to see when Aalyah Mysterio will make her in-ring debut for the Stamford-based promotion.
