Mercedes Mone shocked the world with her triumphant return to AEW after almost six months of absence. The end of 2025 saw Mone’s record-setting TBS Championship reign conclude at the hands of Willow Nightingale, and she followed it up by embarrassing The CEO on the next episode of Dynamite. This pushed Mone to the brink, where she announced she would take a break from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

After that, Mone chose to return to the ring, not in All Elite Wrestling, but rather embark on a global expedition, called the Mone Madness Tour, to defend multiple titles in her belt collection. However, she dropped all of those championships, which marked a huge downfall. At the same time, Mone had hinted at her return to AEW in March 2026:

“I’m returning (to AEW) really really soon. But right now I am on my Moné Madness Tour all over Europe. First it started in Mexico, now here in Italy, next stop is Paris, then London, then Poland, then Winnipeg. After that Mama is gonna return home.”-H/T Ysavva on X

Two months after that statement, the All Elite Wrestling fans finally got to witness the return of Mercedes Mone on the June 3 episode of Dynamite. She squared off with Alex Windsor, being revealed as the Wild Card in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament, and left victorious.

With the Ultimo Mone back in Tony Khan’s company, here are five things likely to happen with her resurgence:

    #5. Face turn run

Ever since Mercedes Mone debuted in AEW in 2024, she has been positioned primarily as a heel character. However, she has experienced a major decline over the last few months and has not been seen as the dominant competitor she once was. Tony Khan and his creative team could take advantage and turn The CEO face, which could be a fresh direction for her to explore in the company.

#4. Reunite with a former ally

Amid Mercedes Mone’s hiatus from All Elite Wrestling, her former ally and wall of protection, Kamille, returned to Tony Khan’s promotion. She attacked then-TBS Champion Willow Nightingale on the Zero Hour show before the AEW Dynasty 2026 pay-per-view. This led to a bout between the two stars, which Nightingale won, marking her victory over the former allies with the TBS Championship on the line. However, now that Mone has returned to AEW, she could enlist Kamille’s help once again to regain her top spot in the company, while treating her as an equal rather than a lackey this time.

#3. Mercedes Mone could win the Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament

Mercedes Mone’s resurgence came during the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament. As mentioned, she faced the reigning NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Alex Windsor, and the two delivered a hard-hitting, evenly matched showdown. As the dust settled, Mone made her submit and won the opening round of the Owen Cup. She is next set to face Hazuki in the semi-finals and seems laser-focused on winning the entire thing. This could see The CEO make her way all the way to the finals and win the tournament for the second year in a row.

#2. Win back the vacant TBS title

One of the prime highlights of Mercedes Mone’s AEW run has been her record-smashing reign as the TBS Champion. In fact, it was after losing the title that she went on a hiatus from the company. On the other hand, the TBS title was vacated right before the Double or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view. Former champion Willow Nightingale revealed she suffered a shoulder injury and had been forced to relinquish the belt. Following that, it was announced that the first-ever women’s Survival of the Fittest match will take place to crown a new champion. This could see Mercedes Mone take advantage of the opportunity and enter the fray to reclaim the championship that established her dominance in All Elite Wrestling.

#1. Much-awaited AEW Women’s World title reign could lead to making history

Ever since Mercedes Mone joined All Elite Wrestling in 2024, there had been an expectation that she would become the AEW Women’s World Champion. However, it has been two years, and the CEO has not yet claimed the coveted prize. Despite that, Mone’s return to AEW could mark the start of her road to winning the top Women’s title in the Jacksonville-based promotion. This could see the former RAW Women’s Champion win the ongoing Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament and earn that title shot at All In 2026. Moreover, as mentioned, she could claim the TBS title on her way to AEW’s biggest show. The redemption arc for Mone could culminate for her at All In with her winning the Women’s World title on their grandest stage. In doing so, Mone would also achieve a major milestone: holding both the AEW Women’s World and TBS Championships simultaneously, a feat no star has achieved in the promotion.
