With the MTG x Marvel Super Heroes set, there are four confirmed Commander precons, each stacked with incredible cards. At the time of writing, we don’t know what those decklists will be, but as they get revealed, we’ll update this article accordingly, so you can make informed decisions on which, if any of these, appeal to you as a Magic: The Gathering player. Each of the decks comes with two leaders, along with the full 100 cards.
However, one of these Commander decklists for MTG Marvel Super Heroes is different. The Fantastic Four precon comes with four possible deck leaders. In that way, it’s similar to the TMNT Commander deck, because there are lots of options on who could possibly lead it.
Note: This article is a work-in-progress. As Commander decklists are revealed, we’ll update accordingly.
All Commander precons and their decklists for MTG Marvel Super Heroes
When MTG Marvel Super Heroes launches on June 17, 2026, all four Commander precons will be available. Some of these will feature brand-new mechanics, which were unveiled when the spoiler season began for this set. As for what the decks are called/what color combinations they use, the are:
- Avengers Assemble (White/Blue/Red)
- The Fantastic Four (White/Blue/Red/Green)
- Wakanda Forever (White/Green)
- Doom Prevails (Blue/Black/Red)
1) Avengers Assemble (White/Blue/Red)

The first MTG Marvel Super Heroes Commander deck is Avengers Assemble, which is built around Equipment and Counters. The two leaders are Captain America, Team Leader, and Director Nick Fury. Captain America rewards you for playing low-cost creatures quickly, because when a Hero creature you control enters, both it and Captain America receive a +1/+1 counter, and the new creature gains Vigilance/Haste for the turn.
It allows you to start pushing quickly, to bulldoze unsuspecting opponents. On the other hand, Director Nick Fury makes Hero cards cheaper to cast, and when you attack, you can look at the top four of your deck, and reveal a Hero from among them. That card goes into your hand, and the others go on the bottom of your deck. Both of these seem like solid choices, but I think for aggressive players, Cap is the better pick for this MTG Commander deck.
2) The Fantastic Four (White/Blue/Red/Green)

A unique idea, Marvel’s First Family, The Fantastic Four are the Commanders of this four-color deck. It’s built around the concept of non-creature spells and protection fields, according to the box. Each of the Commanders (Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing) reward you for casting noncreature spells, but each one does so in a different manner.
Invisible Woman grants a 0/3 Wall with Defender/Reach at the beginning of combat, and Mister Fantastic rewards you by allowing you to draw a card. If you’ve cast a noncreature spell at the beginning of combat with Human Torch, he gains Flying, Double STrike, and Haste for the turn.
Then there’s The Thing, who receives 4 +1/+1 counters and Flying for the turn, if you’ve cast a noncreature spell. Each Commander also has an ability that costs RGWU, making them all ideal four-color leaders. Here’s what those do:
- Invisible Woman: When you attack, target creature gains +1/+0 for each creature you control and can’t be blocked this turn.
- Mister Fantastic: Copy target triggered ability you control twice. You may choose new targets for the copies.
- Human Torch: Whenever Human Torch attacks, you can pay RGWU. If you do, when he deals combat damage to an opponent, he deals that damage to each other opponent.
- The Thing: Whenever The Thing attacks, you can pay RGWU. If you do, double the number of each kind of counter on any number of target permanents you control.
3) Wakanda Forever (White/Green)

Wakanda Forever is a powerful White/Green deck that allows you to power up with artifacts and reign as The Monarch. That’s right, we have another Commander deck for MTG that uses The Monarch as a way to draw more cards! It makes sense with T’Challa, the Black Panther and Shuri, the Black Panther, that’s for sure. It’s odd to see a White/Green artifact deck, but I’m game to see what it can do.
T’Challa, the Black Panther creates Vibranium Tokens when he enters, or when he attacks. These can be tapped to add colorless mana, but can only cast artifact spells. Whenever you cast an artifact spell with Mana Value 4+, T’Challa also receives two +1/+1 counters, making him much stronger.
Shuri, the Black Panther is a different creature altogether. She has Lifelink, and whenever she attacks, you draw a card if you control 3+ artifacts. Then if you control 6+ artifacts, creatures you control get +2/+2 until end of turn. Both have fun uses, but T’Challa giving you free artifacts simply for attacking is amazing value. It also functions as mana ramp.
In addition, you can flicker him for even more artifact generation. It’ll be interesting to see which of the two winds up being better for this MTG Marvel Super Heroes Commander deck.
4) Doom Prevails (Blue/Black/Red)

In terms of the actual characters represented in the MTG Marvel Super Heroes decks, Doom Prevails is my favorite, because it stars Doctor Doom. Recently revealed to be one of the team leaders in Marvel Tokon, he also stars in a Commander deck. The theme is Connive for Power and Drain Life.
Doctor Doom, King of Latervia is one of the deck leaders, which rewards you for discarding land cards by making opponents lose 2 life. Then on combat for your turn, you can grant a Villain Menace for the turn. It also triggers Connive, which lets you draw a card, then discard a card. Then if you discarded a nonland, you give that creature a +1/+1 counter.
Loki, the Deceiver is a completely different kind of Commander. When he attacks, you create a tapped/attacking token that’s a copy of a Villain you control, but it’s also an Illusion that gets sacrificed on your next end step.
Then, whenever one or more Villains you control deal combat damage to a player, you draw a card. He’s okay, and I think he has value in the 99, but I think Doom overall, has more value. You just need the right cards to get some graveyard recursion/land retrieval going.
