The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway this weekend for the FireKeepers Casino 400, with momentum squarely on Denny Hamlin after his statement win in Nashville. The 200-lap race, scheduled for June 7, marks a key stretch in the season as the Chase positions begin to take shape.

Hamlin arrives as both the defending race winner and one of the form drivers in the garage. Away from the performances, the NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 is set to be a colorful race as several teams have also rolled out fresh paint schemes for the weekend. Some lean into bold brand identity, while others focus on nostalgia.

A few stand out immediately. Here are the five best paint schemes for the NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Top 5 paint schemes for the 2026 NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway

#1 Alex Bowman | No. 48 Ally Financial Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

Ally Financial has changed its outlook and car design for the rest of the year. The Hendrick Motorsports No. 48 will now wear this new livery, which is one of the most recognizable in NASCAR. The body is almost entirely purple, with white Ally lettering serving as the centerpiece across the door panels and thin neon-yellow pinstriping adding just enough punch to the design.

Alex Bowman hopes to turn around his year and career under this new Ally paint scheme. In his contract year, there has been silly season talk around his seat, which is compounded by his bad form. Since returning to Bristol, he has finished outside the top 15 in five of the seven races. Moreover, he has finished just one Next Gen race at Michigan and has no top fives in 16 Cup races.

#2 Chris Buescher | Oscar Mayer/The Rustic Oven Bread No. 17 Ford

This is a busy paint scheme, but it holds together well. The red base on the No. 17 RFK Racing Ford immediately draws attention, while black sections add structure and prevent the design from looking flat. White sponsor logos remain visible from afar without overcrowding the panels. The food-themed imagery makes it a fan favorite for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan.

Chris Buescher’s Nashville outing ended with a mechanical failure, but the speed was present before the car gave out, and his recent run has shown consistent top-10 pace. His Michigan record is among the strongest of any driver heading into the FireKeepers Casino 400 – a win in 2023, a P6 in 2024, and a runner-up finish last season. It makes this one of his better opportunities to rebound.

#3 Brad Keselowski | No. 6 Solomon Plumbing RFK Racing Ford

The No. 6 Ford at Michigan is one of the cleanest schemes of the NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 weekend. The green base stands out in a field dominated by darker tones, while white lettering provides strong contrast. The orange-gold accents add warmth and keep the design from feeling too rudimentary.

Keselowski dropped two places in the NASCAR standings after a 34th-place Nashville result. Michigan offers a direct path to redemption. The 2012 champion is a Michigan native and has extensive experience at the two-mile oval with nine top fives and 16 top tens in 28 Cup races. RFK Racing has also shown genuine strength at the track in recent seasons, and the FireKeepers Casino 400 sets up as exactly the kind of circuit where a bounce-back performance is most likely.

    #4 John Hunter Nemechek | No. 42 Pye-Barker Fire & Safety Toyota

The No. 42 carries a bright white base for the FireKeepers Casino 400 as part of Pye-Barker Fire and Safety’s 80th-anniversary campaign. It follows Nashville and reimagines one of the best paint schemes from last weekend. This one also uses a white base effectively, allowing the sponsor branding to stand out clearly. Blue and green accents tie it to the company, while red fire stripes make it stand out.

For Nemechek, the fresh Legacy Motor Club paint scheme has to improve his previous Michigan outings. With an average finish of 31.5 in the NASCAR Firekeepers Casino 400, the scheme might be the only standout for the 42 team.

#5 Todd Gilliland | No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford

Todd Gilliland’s No. 34 at the FireKeepers Casino 400 follows a traditional stock car design approach with strong base colors, clear sponsor placement, and little use of accents on the body. The bold red color carries most of the identity, while secondary colors are used sparingly to make a dramatic visual statement for the return of Martin Transportation Systems (MTS).

It is a scheme built for readability, and is the right kind for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at a two-mile oval. It might also be the only reason Gilliland stands out at the Irish Hills. His 32.7 average finish at the track is the worst in the Next Gen era in the NASCAR Cup Series. Also, he arrives in bad form, with zero top ten finishes in the last six cup races.
