On May 31, Salma Hayek and her billionaire husband, François-Henri Pinault, turned heads courtside to watch Germany’s Alexander Zverev play against Netherlands’s Jesper de Jong in the fourth round of Roland Garros 2026. Post-match, Hayek posted a snapshot of herself sharing the frame with the World No. 3 but faced massive backlash. Shortly after, the Mexican-American actress abruptly deleted the post, which stirred up further controversy.
The Frida star was captured enjoying a loved-up date night with her husband, where the power couple turned heads in coordinated all-black attire. To celebrate the German’s win at the Paris clay court, the actress posted a picture of herself with the tennis icon spreading smiles. But fans took issue with her association with someone who had earlier faced domestic abuse allegations.
Thanks for the submission!
“Salma Hayek has now deleted her post with Zverev from Yesterday” – the post was captioned.
“Can you tell someone that Instagram story disappear after 24 hours!” – an Alex Zverev fan argued.
“The post was on her feed too. she has deleted it from her feed lol” – Another fan argued back.
“People reminded her about his court case real quick 🥴 “- another fan commented.
“Her charity supports victims of domestic violence. The irony” – another fan pointed out.
The German was accused of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, Olya Sharypova, in 2020, and of domestic abuse in 2023 by Brenda Patea, with whom he has a daughter, Mayla, who was born in 2021. The 29-year-old has repeatedly denied both the allegations, and a court case brought by Patea was discontinued in 2024.
Alexander Zverev passes verdict on current heat rule after Jannik Sinner wilted in sweltering conditions
Alexander Zverev currently has the golden opportunity to bag the 2026 French Open title after Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic ended their campaign early this year. Although the World No. 1 claimed heat wasn’t the reason behind his early exit, he has previously faced issues with brutal heat at the Australian Open and Shanghai Open last year.
In the first week of the French Open this year, the temperature reached 40 degrees. The German has now given his verdict on whether there should be a change in the heat rules within the sport.
“It’s difficult for me to answer because I like heat. I always have felt comfortable in the heat. But overall I think there has been brutal matches, there has been very tough conditions” – Alexander Zverev said.
“But those kind of matches and things would have been brutal anyway, with how long they were and how the rallies were.” – he added.
The 29-year-old concluded by saying that he is not a politician, so he doesn’t know what the rules are. Alexander Zverev will next play against Rafael Jódar in the quarter finals of the French Open, slated for June 2 at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
