Tom Aspinall continues his rehabilitation from the eye injuries he suffered at the hands of Ciryl Gane in his first UFC heavyweight title defense.

The British star was eye poked several times by the Frenchman, and the fight was deemed a no contest. While Gane will fight Alex Pereira for the interim heavyweight title at the White House event, Aspinall must wait before making his return.

However, that hasn’t stopped the British star from speaking about future dream fights. Aspinall was speaking to Eddie Hall before the latter’s boxing match against Tommy Fury.

Hall asked Aspinall who his dream fight could be, something outside of the UFC too. The current UFC heavyweight champion named Brock Lesnar as his dream opponent:

“I would like to fight Brock Lesnar, you know. Think that would be f****** cool wouldn’t it?”

    Aspinall continued:

“Just cause like I grew up watching him when he was in WWE.”

Check out Tom Aspinall bring up Brock Lesnar as his dream opponent from 9:30 below:

Lesnar might be 48, but he is doing a great job in WWE and still looks in top shape. ‘The Beast’ is a former UFC heavyweight champion and beat the likes of Frank Mir and Randy Couture during his time with the company.

While a fight against Lesnar seems unlikely at the moment, Aspinall did provide an update on his future recently.

Tom Aspinall struggled with his eye sight even after surgery post the fight against Ciryl Gane. The Brit was able to do basic chores and even shaking hands had become a problem.

However, continued rehabilitation has improved Aspinall’s vision and the champion posted several positive updates on his YouTube channel last month.

Aspinall claimed he was very nice to being cleared for proper contact training:

“We are just on route back from the eye hospital where today I had a scan and things are progressing f***** nicely, which I am happy about. They are saying pretty soon…I will be cleared for contact. I am back in the gym, I am back training, no sparring.”

He also confirmed his next fight was against the winner of Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. However, no specific return timeline was shared for his return:

“No specific month. I am waiting to get clearance, which is going to be coming soon, they have just told me. Any specific month depends on the UFC, Those are the two gotta fight each other. Let them do their thing first, recover from that, and when everybody’s ready, we’ll do it.”
