WWE Superstar Jade Cargill is often at the receiving end of criticism for her in-ring work. Unfortunately, she was involved in an embarrassing botch during her match at Clash in Italy.
In the second bout of the night, The Storm challenged Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship. Cargill started strong and overpowered The Eradicator in the early goings. The former member of The Judgment Day fought back and used the challenger’s momentum against her and threw her out of the ring.
Thanks for the submission!
Rhea followed it up with a drop kick through the ropes. She attempted a dive onto Cargill, who was seemingly supposed to catch The Nightmare. However, she failed to do so, and the two stars froze mid-match for a few seconds. It looked very awkward.
Jade Cargill eventually got on the offensive and followed it up with an impressive combination of moves. After the early jitters, the 33-year-old put forth a great performance and dominated Rhea Ripley for a large part of the match.
Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley at WWE Clash in Italy was marred with outside interference
Towards the closing moments of the match, Rhea Ripley floored Jade Cargill with the Ripetide and looked all set to secure the win, only for B-Fab to put Cargill’s foot on the bottom rope. Rhea got out of the ring to confront B-Fab and Michin.
Moments later, Charlotte Flair showed up to take out B-Fab and Michin. In the mean time, Cargill got back on her feet and hit a distracted Ripley with the Jaded. However, she could not pin the champion, as Charlotte Flair returned the favour and put Rhea’s foot on the bottom rope. Rhea Ripley eventually made a comeback and hit Cargill with the Riptide to score the win and retain the gold.
Given the outside interference, Cargill might get another shot at the WWE Women’s Championship going forward.
