Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck made a rare joint outing on May 26 to support their eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, during a visit to the emergency room in Los Angeles. The former couple, who have remained close co-parents over the years, appeared united while helping their daughter during the hospital trip.
According to photos obtained by Daily Mail, their daughter was seen leaning on her father for support as Garner walked beside them and offered assistance. Later, the trio was photographed leaving the hospital, with Violet using crutches and wearing a boot on one foot.
Garner and Affleck married in 2005 before separating in 2015. Their divorce was officially finalized in 2018. The pair share three children: Violet, Fin, and Samuel, and have frequently spoken positively about their co-parenting relationship in recent years.
Speaking to Bustle in February 2026, Garner reflected on raising children in two households, saying:
“When your kids grow up in two separate households, I become mom and dad, and he becomes mom and dad.”
Affleck has also publicly praised Garner as a co-parent. During an interview with Access Hollywood last October, he called his ex-wife “a great partner” in raising their children and added:
“It’s the joy of my life, and I’m just very, very lucky.”
The actor also spoke proudly about Violet, who currently attends Yale University and has become increasingly involved in activism. He remarked that he “could not be more proud of my children” and added that Violet took “after her mom.”
Garner has similarly spoken warmly about Violet over the years. During a 2023 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, she praised her daughter’s independence during the college application process, saying:
“She’s a self-starter. I’m proud of her no matter what.”

On September 23, Violet appeared at the United Nations while wearing a white face mask and advocating for renewed mask mandates and stronger public health protections. During her remarks, she called for “clean air infrastructure that is so ubiquitous and so obviously necessary,” while also urging leaders to “recognize filtered air as a human right, as intuitively as we do filtered water.”
The Yale student also criticized what she described as society’s rush toward returning to normal after the pandemic.
“(I reject) relentless beat of back to normal, ignoring downplaying, and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long Covid,” she said, warning about the long-term impact of illness on children.
Elsewhere in her speech, Violet expressed concern for younger generations, saying she was “terrified” for children and “furious on their behalf.” Violet further argued:
“We are told by leaders across the board that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”
She also accused officials of failing to adequately protect children from airborne illness, stating:
“It is a neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, ‘We knew how to protect you and we didn’t do it.’”
The activist has previously shared that she dealt with a post-viral condition in 2019. Although she later said she was “OK now.”
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner step out together in matching style during a recent outing
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner recently appeared to coordinate their outfits during a casual outing in Los Angeles.
The former couple was photographed grabbing food from a Los Angeles restaurant on Friday, May 22, before walking together through a parking lot. Garner wore a light blue sweater paired with dark-wash jeans as she chatted with Ben Affleck during the outing.
Ben Affleck, meanwhile, sported a blue button-down long-sleeve shirt in a nearly identical shade to Garner’s sweater. He completed the look with dark-wash jeans, blue-tinted sunglasses, and navy shoes while carrying a takeout bag.
Although the pair has largely kept details surrounding their split private, Jennifer Garner previously reflected on the emotional impact of her separation from Ben Affleck during an interview with Marie Claire UK in January 2026.
“You have to be smart about what you can and can’t handle, and I could not handle what was out there…The actual breaking up of a family is what was hard. Losing a true partnership and friendship is what was hard,” Jennifer Garner said.
The actress also emphasized the importance of maintaining strong personal relationships during difficult periods in life, saying:
“I make a big, concerted effort to see my people as much as I can, because that’s what matters.”
Jennifer Garner later discussed co-parenting with Ben Affleck during a February interview with Bustle, where she explained how parenting dynamics shift after separation.
