AEW star MJF is set to face a dangerous star as his first defence of the AEW World Championship. The Salt of the Earth became a three-time world champion after defeating Darby Allin at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in the championship vs hair contest. Maxwell appeared on tonight’s Dynamite to celebrate his win, but instead was confronted by his potential challengers.
While the Devil was boasting about how he defeated the Relentless star with a headlock takeover, Mark Briscoe interrupted him. He and Maxwell have a long history. Also, the Chicken defeated Tommaso Ciampa on last week’s Dynamite in a bloody match. Briscoe revealed he wants a shot at the AEW World Championship. However, the Salt of the Earth denied it as he believes that Mark winning the gold will run the company into the ground.
While Friedman was exiting the arena, Rush interrupted him and asked him for a shot. The Bull had already laid out his challenge to Darby Allin last week. However, now that Maxwell got his title back, Rush challenged him. The Devil accepted the challenge, and the two will fight next week.
Andrade, too, is after MJF’s AEW World Championship
Andrade has been wanting to become the AEW World Champion since he returned to the promotion earlier this year. Unfortunately, despite his many attempts, he never actually got a shot at the AEW’s world title.
Before Rush and Mark Briscoe could confront Maxwell for the title, Andrade appeared backstage on tonight’s Dynamite and made his intentions clear. He called out the AEW World Champion and asked him for a title shot.
“Now that the stupid Stadium Stampede is over, I can focus on winning the world title. I’m beating the stupid and Patito MJF. MJF, you think you are better than a Real Latino Man? How you know?” he said.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for Friedman to accept El Idolo’s challenge.
