The Green Bay Packers suffered a major setback on Tuesday after Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs was arrested by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.

The three-time Pro Bowler has been booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of domestic abuse, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation and intimidation of a victim.

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III reacted to the Packers star’s arrest on X:

    “Real men don’t hit women.”

While Jacobs’ attorneys have denied the allegations, the Packers running back could end up missing the team’s voluntary workouts. His attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac said:

“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”

Packers coach Matt LaFleur ducks question about Josh Jacobs’ arrest

The Packers acknowledged Josh Jacobs‘ arrest by releasing an official statement on Tuesday night.

“We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment,” the statement read.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur was asked about his running back’s situation on Wednesday. LaFleur seemingly ducked the question by alluding to the team’s statement on the matter.

“About Josh, I’m gonna stick with the statement that we put out as an organization,” LaFleur said. “And just let the process play out.”

Itnremais to be seen if the Packers will fine Jacobs if he misses the mandatory minicamp, training camp and preseason games due to his arrest.
