Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown continued his online feud with Stephen A. Smith on Monday after suggesting that his beef with the analyst cost him an All-NBA First team. However, Brown’s latest remarks did not sit well with fans, who criticized him for continuing to take shots at Smith.
The Celtics guard made his latest remark during a Twitch livestream as he reacted to the announcement of the All-NBA teams. Brown, who was named to the second All-NBA team, believed his omission from the first team was due to his controversial nature and his feud with the media.
Thanks for the submission!
“I’m surprised I win awards at all sometimes,” Brown said. “I’m not the most liked player in the media.”

Brown missed out on a First Team spot, with Cade Cunningham, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic making the cut. While he did not name anyone directly, fans were quick to connect his remarks to his ongoing feud with Smith.
However, Brown’s continued criticism of the media, particularly Smith, drew backlash online, with many fans expressing frustration over his repeated comments.
Although many fans were left fuming with Brown’s constant attacks on Smith and the media, a few felt he deserved to be named on the All-NBA first team.
Brown was named to the All-NBA Second Team alongside Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant. While the honor capped off a strong individual season, there remains a case for his inclusion on the First Team.
The Celtics star led Boston to a second-seed finish despite missing Jayson Tatum and other key players for extended periods. He also averaged 28.7 points per game, the fourth-best in the league, while shooting 47.7% from the field, numbers that strengthened his argument for a First Team spot.
Jaylen Brown challenges Stephen A Smith to debate at Harvard or MIT
The feud between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith continues to escalate as the two trade shots publicly. Following Smith’s latest remarks on First Take, the Celtics star doubled down on his stance against traditional media, issuing a direct challenge to the analyst.
During a livestream on Monday, Brown proposed a formal debate while offering MIT and Harvard as venues for the showdown.
“Stephen A., here’s my proposal,” Brown said. “Why don’t we have a live audience debate, traditional media versus us athletes?
“Let’s do a live debate in front of a live-streamed audience at a mutual location like Harvard or MIT, and let’s talk about it. Let’s see who comes out on top. Should be easy. Should be a piece of cake.”
The challenge adds another layer to the ongoing feud, with fans now waiting to see whether Smith responds to the public callout.
