Kenny Omega has once again become an integral part of the All Elite Wrestling programming. He is set to wrestle at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view tonight, and fans are excited to see what he will be doing. The Cleaner will be teaming up with Chris Jericho and The Hurt Syndicate alongside The Elite to take on The Demand, The Don Callis Family, and The Dogs in a Stadium Stampede.

However, fans are not expecting something simple in this match this weekend. The stampede could be filled with some major twists and turns that could change the landscape of All Elite Wrestling. One of those twists could be an unexpected heel turn of The Best Bout Machine. Omega has been playing a babyface for a long time, and a heel turn could be a new chapter for his career.

In this article, let’s take a look at five reasons why Kenny Omega should turn heel at Double or Nothing this weekend:

#5. A shocking moment at Double or Nothing

Tony Khan needs a shocking moment at Double or Nothing this Sunday night. Fans are looking forward to seeing a major moment unfold at the pay-per-view, something that could lay down a long-term impact. People are not expecting something like that from the Stadium Stampede match.

However, Khan can shock the world by putting Kenny Omega’s heel turn during this match. The Best Bout Machine could attack Chris Jericho from behind to help out Ricochet take the win. Such an angle could become a major talking point coming out of Double or Nothing pay-per-view this weekend.

#4. Nothing left for him as a babyface

Kenny Omega has been working as a babyface since 2022 in All Elite Wrestling. He has done almost everything there is to do as a babyface in the Jacksonville-based promotion. There is nothing significant left for him as a hero, as he has feuded with several top heels already in the company. Therefore, a heel turn could kick off a new route for him to work on in the next few months.

The Best Bout Machine could debut a new character as a heel, something that he has not done in his career before. Kenny Omega could actively take shots and do heated promos as a villain. Besides, Young Bucks and Jack Perry recently turned babyfaces. Therefore, as a heel, The Cleaner can have feuds with them, which would be incredibly fresh for the fans of the Jacksonville-based promotion.

#3. AEW World Championship push is still left

Kenny Omega has been chasing the AEW World Championship for a while now in All Elite Wrestling. However, he has been unsuccessful in his past attempts to become a champion. He has not held the world title since 2021, and fans are rooting to see him with the title one more time before his retirement. Therefore, he needs something new to create a better case for his world championship contention.

A heel turn would develop a fresh and interesting storyline around him in the Jacksonville-based promotion. It would once again give him a prominent spotlight in the company, which could lead to a world championship run down the line. Fans have been struggling to take interest in his current gimmick. A dark turn would invoke a new sense of curiosity in Omega’s character in pro-wrestling.

#2. Lack of top heels in the AEW main event scene

The AEW main event scene is filled with top-tier talents. However, there is a lack of a prominent heel in the division as things stand. For sure, MJF is doing an incredible job as one of the main antagonists in the promotion, but fans need something fresh in the AEW World Championship picture. Top heels like Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland are involved in the mid-card scene.

They are unlikely to be moving to the main event scene soon. Therefore, Kenny Omega could be used in the world title picture as a heel. He can play a prominent villain in the company and go on to chase the AEW World Championship. Moreover, The Cleaner has a massive star power in professional wrestling, and it would be epic to see a star of his caliber playing a top villain in AEW.

#1. Kenny Omega can feud with top babyfaces like Will Ospreay

Kenny Omega can feud with several top babyfaces as a heel in AEW. He can be involved in storylines with names like Brody King, Darby Allin, and Bandido. Besides, fans have been clamoring to see Omega’s showdown with Will Ospreay for the past year. It is one of the most anticipated matches for the veteran before he retires from the world of professional wrestling.

There is a rich history between the two stars. Therefore, to revisit that iconic feud, they need some significant storytelling. Will Ospreay is currently the biggest babyface in All Elite Wrestling. Hence, an interesting storyline could be to put him against a heel Kenny Omega. This would create a natural dynamic between the two stars, which could result in another banger showdown between them in All Elite Wrestling.
