WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV received mixed reactions from fans across the wrestling world. Despite putting on a solid show, the lack of twists and turns made it an underwhelming event.
The special show saw Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab defeating Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss in the kickoff match. Moreover, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch in a non-title match via disqualification. This happened after the Man pulled Jessika Carr in when Sol Ruca attempted Sol Snatcher.
Thanks for the submission!
Penta retained his Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page in a 14-minute showdown. Paige and Brie Bella remained the Women’s Tag Team Champions after surviving against Nia Jax and Lash Legend of The Irresistible Forces.
The show was headlined by The Vision against The Street Profits in a World Tag Team Championship match. Also, in the post-match, Bron Breakker destroyed Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford.
However, Triple H’s booking for the Saturday Night’s Main Event show has seemingly buried a few stars. In this article, we will discuss three WWE stars who got buried at SNME.
#3. Rhea Ripley
WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was part of a six-woman tag team match. Despite being the Champion, the Eradicator suffered a pin-fall loss. This occurred when the Storm blindsided the Mami, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss in the closing moment.
Soon, Jade connected with her finisher, Jaded, and pinned the Women’s Champion in the squared circle. At WrestleMania 42, Rhea dethroned Cargill to become the new champion.
Since then, she has yet to defend her Championship, having been involved in the tag team picture. Amid this, her pinfall loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event buried her momentum heading into Clash in Italy.
Triple H booked Ripley to lose, as it will set the stage for Rhea vs Jade WrestleMania rematch at Clash in Italy 2026. Irrespective, this surely made the Mami look weak despite being the Champion.
#2. Nia Jax
Nia Jax and Lash Legend competed in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match against Paige and Brie Bella. Over the past few months, the Irresistible Forces have dominated the women’s tag team scenario, but they failed to recapture the Women’s Tag Team titles.
In the closing moments, Paige executed a roll-up on Jax and pinned her to retain the titles. Nia Jax is one of the most dominant stars in the Women’s division. She is a multi-time Women’s World Champion and tag team champion. She also holds many records to her name.
The fact that she took a pinfall loss, let alone via a roll-up at Saturday Night’s Main Event, suggests that Triple H has lost faith in her.
#1. Former WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits
Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford returned on WWE RAW and issued a challenge to the Vision. The return of Street Profits gained massive attention from fans, and the WWE Universe was invested in their quest to become the next World Tag Team Champions.
Despite the anticipation, Triple H didn’t crown them as new Champions at Saturday Night’s Main Event, as the Vision retained the gold. Additionally, in the post-match, they suffered a beatdown at the hands of Bron Breakker, adding fuel to the fire.
Booking Street Profits in such a way indeed buried them at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Many fans online were also unhappy with their booking and felt that Profits deserved to be the new Champions at the special show.
The Triple H-led creative regime could be planning for a six-man tag team match at Clash in Italy 2026. Here, the Street Profits and Seth Rollins could be on the same page against Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and Bron Breakker.
Even if these are plans after Saturday Night’s Main Event, the Street Profits losing at the special show doesn’t look right. Burning them has eventually put them at a weaker position for a future World Tag Team title match.
Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford are one of the most decorated tag teams in the Stamford-based promotion. It remains to be seen how WWE will book them after they buried them at the SNME show.
