Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Ayush Badoni threw away his wicket after a massive brainfade in the IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday, May 23. The right-handed batter momentarily lifted his back foot after missing a cut shot, and wicketkeeper Prabhsimran Singh whipped off the bails in a flash. As a result, Badoni departed for 43 off 18 balls, an innings laced with three sixes and five boundaries.
The dismissal came in the seventh over of LSG’s innings. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a delivery outside off, and Badoni made a huge mistake as Prabhsimran made the most of the moment with the batter’s right leg in the air. The on-field umpire wasn’t sure and took a review. The replays showed Badoni was out.

With the scalp, Chahal extended his wickets tally to 11 (and counting) in 14 matches in IPL 2026. The leg-spinner holds the record for most wickets in the T20 league.
LSG vs PBKS match is evenly poised in IPL 2026
With PBKS playing a must-win game, their match against LSG is evenly poised as Josh Inglis and skipper Rishabh Pant have steadied the ship in their IPL 2026 last league game.
At the time of writing, LSG were 100/3 after 10 overs, with Inglis (37 off 24) and Pant (14 off 11) at the crease.
A win would keep the Shreyas Iyer-led side mathematically alive for the IPL 2026 playoffs. Only the Rajasthan Royals (RR) can go past 15 points. If the Riyan Parag-led side loses their last game, then net run rate (NRR) would decide PBKS’ fate for a fourth-place finish. Having said that, the Punjab-based franchise is coming on the back of six consecutive defeats. They were the runners-up last season.
On the contrary, the Super Giants are 10th in the points table. They will be looking to register a consolation victory in their last game.
