Colorado Avalanche fans on social media vent out their frustration after a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final on Friday.

The Avalanche held a 1-0 lead entering the third period but couldn’t sustain pressure or defensive structure. The Golden Knights capitalized quickly with three unanswered goals, turning the game around. The Avs now trail the series 2-0.

Here’s how Avalanche fans on X (formerly called Twitter) reacted after the Game 2 loss. One tweeted:

“Series over! This team isn’t coming back down 2 now being the road team!”

@Avalanche @DriveToyota Series over! This team isn’t coming back down 2 now being the road team!

    Another chimed in:

“We continue to ride Toews as a savior yet he’s junk. 100% cost them the game.”

Here are some of the other top reactions on X:

“Who even is this team the past 2 games? Lifeless, no energy…can’t put pucks on net. Just wow. Top 2 lines are in the witness protection program,” a third fan wrote.

“ColoFRAUDo. Pathetic effort. Every shot missed the net,” one X user opined.

“What would that mission be? Hitting the net? What an unserious team. Can’t hit the net, too scared to make the quick play. MacKinnon slows the play to look for an open player when he already an open player. And stop shooting the puck into guys right in front of you!” another chimed in.

“Just stop. Just stop. You suck. That power play was terrible. The entire 3rd period was terrible. Just call it. Be realistic,” added another.

Vegas Golden Knights down Colorado Avalanche 3-1 in Game 2 of WCF

On Friday, the Colorado Avalanche suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights at Ball Arena. The Golden Knights lead the WCF series 2-0.

At 16:59 of the first period, Ross Colton, the Avs’ only scorer, made it 1-0. The second period went goalless.

Jack Eichel tied it 1-1 for the Golden Knights at 9:15 of the third period. Ivan Barbashev increased the lead to 2-1 at 11:22. He scored his second and the game-winner with an empty-net goal at 18:57.

Carter Hart was solid between the pipes, making 29 saves and posting a .967 save percentage. Game 3 heads back to T-Mobile Arena in Vegas on Sunday, with the puck dropping at 7 p.m. ET.
