The 2027 Chevy Equinox EV and Blazer EV are due for a few updates that fix some of the biggest complaints with the current models.

2027 Chevy Equinox and Blazer EV updates

GM is giving drivers what they want. For the 2027 model year, Chevy’s electric SUVs will finally be able to access Tesla Superchargers.

Rather than the CSS connector found on current models, the 2027 Chevy Blazer and Equinox EVs will feature a built-in NACS port, enabling drivers to charge at over 3,000 Tesla Supercharger stations and over 37,000 charge ports across the US.

The update is part of GM’s move to NACS on all upcoming EVs, starting with the 2026 Cadillac Optiq and new 2027 Chevy Bolt.

GM, like nearly every automaker at this point, is transitioning to NACS because it’s the largest and most reliable fast charging network in the US.

While that may be the most significant change, there’s another update drivers can look forward to. After we learned earlier this week that the 2027 Chevy Equinox EV will be available with a premium Bose sound system, it looks like the Blazer will follow suit.

According to GMAuthority, the 2027 Chevy Blazer EV LT and RS trims will now offer an optional eight-speaker premium Bose sound system.

The premium sound system is standard on the current range-topping 2026 Chevy Blazer Blazer EV SS, but it is not even offered as an option on the LT and RS models.

The 2026 Chevy Equinox EV and Blazer EV both come with a standard six-speaker stereo and no option to upgrade (outside of the Blazer SS), which has been one of the biggest complaints among drivers.

Online forums are filled with drivers complaining about the audio quality, and most agree that the eight-speaker Bose system offered on the previous Bolt EUV was far better. It will remain standard on the 2027 Blazer EV SS and will be offered at an additional cost for LT and RS trims as part of the Super Cruise Package.

The Super Cruise package is available on current models for an extra $4,650. It includes the RS Convenience and Driver Confidence Package, a heated rear wiper, a Head-Up Display, enhanced parking assist, and Super Cruise ADAS.

GM will offer it on the 2027 Chevrolet Equinox EV as part of the optional Active Safety Package 3 for an additional cost.

For the current model, the Active Safety Package 3 is available on the LT2 and RS trims for an extra $3,355. It includes 3 years of OnStarOne, GM’s Super Cruise ADAS tech, and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist.

    LT 1 FWD $36,495 319 miles
    LT 1 AWD $39,795 307 miles
    LT 2 FWD $43,295 319 miles
    LT 2 AWD $46,595 307 miles
    RS FWD $45,595 319 miles
    RS AWD $48,895 307 miles

The 2026 Chevy Equinox EV, or “America’s most affordable 315+ mile range EV,” as GM calls it, starts at $34,995. The 2026 Chevy Blazer EV starts from $44,600.

The updates come as GM faces new competition, like the updated Toyota bZ (which was the third-best-selling EV in Q1) and the Hyundai IONIQ 5, both of which offer longer driving ranges and NACS ports.
