A scheduled plan for WWE Women’s Intercontinental champion Becky Lynch may have gone through a change.

Becky Lynch wrestled back the title at WrestleMania 42, battling AJ Lee in a gruelling match that lasted over eight minutes. Since then, The Man has succesfully defended the belt against on RAW against IYO SKY. Her next challenge appeared to be the NXT veteran Sol Ruca, who has made quite a name for herself as a formidable opponent as of late.

The match was initially advertised as a non-title match for Saturday Night’s Main Event. It was later changed to be a title match, as confirmed further by Becky Lynch’s Instagram post of the match banner.

However, a recent post on X suggests that the creative team has seemingly reverted it to a non-title match again.

    “@BeckyLynchWWE battles @SolRucaWWE at #SNME this Saturday! 🔥”

Becky Lynch believes AJ Lee has retired from WWE

One of the biggest moments in the Women’s division over the last few months was the return of AJ Lee, but it appears that she is gone from the active scene again.

As mentioned before, Lee was able to earn the Women’s Intercontinental title after her return to the Stamford-based promotion in September last year. Her rivalry with Becky Lynch grew over the next few months, culminating in the WrestleMania 42 match where Lee lost the belt.

Speaking about her triumph on a recent episode of RAW, Lynch mentioned how she had vanquished her foes thoroughly. She also implied that AJ Lee was no longer a part of the Stamford-based promotion.

“Many people have stepped to me. They thought they were ready for the spotlight, and the fall from grace has been astounding, I’m thinking of ‘Loony Lyra,’ ‘Mediocre Maxxine.” I mean, ‘Absolute Joke’ AJ Lee, she was so traumatized, she had to leave the whole business.” she recalled.

Becky Lynch is certainly one of the biggest names today in the women’s division of pro wrestling. What she does next is something fans will have to stay tuned to see.
