BTS fans were furious upon discovering that member Jimin had been cropped out of the cover page of a South Korean current affairs magazine. An image circulating on social sites featured the boy group from their visit to Mexico City’s National Palace on May 6, 2026.
The cover of Weekly Dong-A’s latest edition pictures all of the members, excluding Jimin, while they stood on the balcony to address their fans. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo was pictured alongside BTS members as well. Finding only six members on the cover image, fans took to social media and voiced their frustration.
One fan shared on X:
“Jimin is still a member of BTS. There is absolutely no justification for official group content being printed and distributed with him completely excluded. WHERE IS JIMIN? RESPECT JIMIN.”
Many other instances were brought up where fans claimed that HYBE has been deliberately sidelining the member. They called out the company for allegedly keeping him out of the spotlight and not giving him enough screen time at multiple tour stops.
A few others even tried to contact the magazine, demanding accountability and actions to fix the error. The image was originally shared on the official X handle of the president of Mexico. On the post, the political leader praised BTS for their positive influence on youth through their music.
Fans believe Jimin is receiving unfair treatment from their company and in the media
Fans of the 30-year-old had previously raised their voices in support of the singer. Recently, BTS was announced as one of the co-headliners for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals’ halftime show, alongside Shakira and Madonna. CBS News New York aired news pieces related to the event.
But fans noticed that Jimin was once again allegedly excluded from an image of the group shown by the broadcasters. Strings of criticism flowed in as netizens demanded the K-pop idol to get proper features and respect in media coverage.

In another scenario, the singer was allegedly not getting enough screentime during the group’s concert stop in Mexico City. Concertgoers who secured seats far away from the stage relied on the footage of Jimin shows on jumbotrons at the venue.
However, a group of disappointed audience members claimed that the idol was not filmed properly for the giant screens while he was singing his part. BTS will be performing next at Paradise, Nevada, starting from May 23, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium.
