“They and AEW would be sued by WWE”

Following the New Day’s departure from WWE, many have been discussing their potential next chapter. A wrestling veteran has mentioned why there is no chance of them showing up at AEW Double or Nothing.

After their release from the Stamford-based promotion earlier this month, both Kofi and Austin Creed have been linked to a move to AEW. There is a positive perception of them internally, and it seems that several stars will push for them to be signed once they become available.

One fan wondered what could happen to the New Day if they suddenly made an appearance at Double or Nothing next week, considering how they are still competing 90 days of no competition. Dave Meltzer responded to this and mentioned how WWE would have the grounds to sue both them and All Elite Wrestling.

“They and AEW would be sued by WWE” said Meltzer.

This is a very delicate situation, as a few months ago, Andrade El Idolo dealt with some legal issues upon his return to the Tony Khan-led company due to some confusion about his WWE release.

A former AEW World Champion is open to having the New Day in AEW

Although negotiations have yet to begin, it seems that there have yet to be any objections to the idea of the New Day becoming All-Elite.

The latest person to be open to the idea is MJF, as he spoke about this during his appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show. He mentioned how they would be incredible additions ot their roster.

“Yeah absolutely. I don’t know what their contract situation is but whenever they are legally allowed to come over I think those are guys that would be incredible additions to the AEW roster. They’re both crazy talented. They’re both massive stars and they they both know they worth, which to me is the most impressive thing,” he said.

Fans will have to be a little more patient as they are still on the 90-day no-compete clause as part of their contracts. But it remains to be seen whether Kofi and Austin Creed themselves are open to signing with the company.
