WWE reportedly contacted Enzo Amore over WrestleMania 42 week. The Stamford-based promotion has welcomed quite a few names from the past back into its fold in recent years.

Amore started in NXT in 2012 and was quickly paired with Big Cass, and the duo got over due to their mic work and catchphrase “realest guys in the room.” The team was also popular on the main roster before Amore moved to be a singles star.

He was released from WWE in 2018 and briefly retired from pro wrestling before making a return to the squared circle. While nothing has been mentioned about him returning to his former employers in the past, the situation could change.

Speaking on the recent edition of Self Made Sessions, Ibou of Self Made Pro said he can confirm that WWE were in contact with the former Cruiserweight champion during WrestleMania 42 week.

“What I can tell you guys is that on the week of WrestleMania, they were in contact with Enzo Amore,” he reported.

Ibou further mentioned that there has been contact from both ends and added that WWE is seeking to sign different tag teams from around the globe.

“What I can tell you flat out and confirm is that Enzo was in contact with WWE the week of WrestleMania. And what I can tell you for a fact also is that they’re looking at a bunch of teams that they want to sign from different companies all around the world,” he added.

Ibou also mentioned that with Big Bill, aka Big Cass’s, contract with AEW near its end, a reunion of Enzo and Cass could possibly be on the cards.

Enzo Amore said WWE hasn’t called him over a return

Despite being part of one of the most popular acts in WWE, Enzo Amore was unable to break through the way it was expected.

Following his release, he took a break before returning to the ring. Last year in an interview with No Contest Wrestling, Amore said he often gets asked about a return to WWE and revealed he never called them about coming back.

He said he has reached out through text messages and even received a response, but neither he nor WWE has gotten on a phone with each other.
