Raja Shivaji, produced by Reliance’ Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, has become the highest-grossing Marathi film ever, continuing its strong run at the box office nearly three weeks after release.

The historical drama, directed by Riteish Deshmukh, has collected Rs 93.10 crore nett in India and Rs 114.80 crore worldwide gross so far, according to figures released by the makers.

The film, based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has maintained steady collections after a record-breaking opening week. It has also benefited from strong word of mouth and audience support across both its Marathi and Hindi versions.

The makers said the film saw another solid turnout during its third weekend, helping it continue its box office momentum despite entering its third week in cinemas.

In its opening week, Raja Shivaji earned Rs 57.70 crore nett in India. The second week added another Rs 27 crore. Collections remained stable during the third weekend as the film brought in Rs 1.70 crore on Friday, Rs 2.90 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.80 crore on Sunday.

That pushed the total India nett collection to Rs 93.10 crore. The film’s India gross currently stands at Rs 109.90 crore, while overseas markets have added another Rs 4.90 crore. The combined worldwide gross has now crossed Rs 114.80 crore, setting a new benchmark for Marathi cinema.

The film’s performance is being seen as a major milestone for the Marathi film industry, which has rarely witnessed productions crossing the Rs 100 crore mark globally. Industry observers say the scale of the film, combined with the popularity of Shivaji Maharaj’s story and Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial approach, has helped the movie connect with audiences beyond its core regional market.

The success also marks one of the biggest theatrical wins for Jio Studios in the regional cinema space.

After a powerful start and sustained collections over multiple weeks, Raja Shivaji is now being counted among the defining blockbuster successes in Marathi cinema history. With audience interest still holding strong during its third weekend, the film’s final lifetime total could climb even higher in the coming days.
