WNBA fans flamed A’ja Wilson for biting hard on Angel Reese‘s pump fake in the LV Aces‘ 85-84 win over the Dream on Sunday. In the first quarter, with 5:55 left on the clock, Reese received the ball at the top of the key.

The Atlanta Dream star pump-faked for a 3-point shot to bait the league’s reigning MVP. Wilson took the bait and jumped to block the shot, which was never coming. Reese took the open lane and drove the basket for an easy layup.

A fan shared the play’s video clip on X and other fans swarmed the post’s comments section with troll comments.

“She jumped like that was prime Curry lol why,” one fan commented.

“Dumbest MVP I’ve seen,” another fan commented.

“I’m ngl, this most definitely affects her goat case,” another fan said.

    Here are more reactions:

“Aja Wilson gotta be smarter than that lol, Angel Reese getting the ball in transition and launching a 3? You let her shoot that sh*t 100/100, don’t ever jump at no pump take if that’s gonna be the shot💀,” one fan said.

“A’Ja loses her DPOY for this year for falling for Angel Reese’s pump fake from 3,” another fan said.

“Angel Reese hasn’t made a single jumper so far this season and she jumped for pumpfake? Not my goat no more 😂😂😭,” another fan commented.

Fans were surprised to see a player of A’ja Wilson’s caliber fall for Angel Reese’s trickery, when Reese is not a good shooter from range. The Dream star shot 0 of 1 from range and finished with nine points, eight rebounds and three assists. She is shooting 0.0% from the 3-point range this season.

A’ja Wilson wants to prove that she is the ‘best’

A’ja Wilson is one of the biggest names in the WNBA. The LV Aces star has arguably been the best player in Women’s basketball in the last five years. She has won four MVP awards and has led the Aces to three championships in the last half-decade.

However, the competitive fire under Wilson continues to burn brighter than ever. In an interview with Vanity Fair on Tuesday, the Aces star revealed that she wants to prove that she is the best.

“I want to prove that I’m the best,” she said. “That allows me to have a great trophy case. It allows me to get rings. And it allows me to just play with peace.”

A’ja Wilson has had a great start to her season. She is averaging 26.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. She is certainly one of the best, if not the best, players in the WNBA right now.

However, if she wants to be the best in history, she needs to continue this groove and keep making history to etch her name above every female player in the basketball heavens.
