Tesla owners have been debating the missing instrument cluster for years. Some drivers love the minimalist center screen setup, while others still want critical driving information directly in their line of sight.

Now, a startup called NeuroHUD says it has the answer. Its slogan? “The heads-up display Tesla forgot.” NeuroHUD says it’s the world’s first true heads-up display (HUD) built specifically for Tesla vehicles. Instead of glancing at the center screen, drivers can see important information projected directly ahead, keeping their eyes on the road.

And they’ve clearly got Tesla owners’ attention: NeuroHUD’s Kickstarter campaign has launched, and it has already raised more than $400,000 in its first 72 hours.

    What NeuroHUD does

NeuroHUD brings key Tesla driving information into the driver’s line of sight, including:

    • Tesla navigation
    • Blind-spot alerts
    • Autopilot status
    • Speed and driving information
    • Safety alerts

That way, drivers don’t need to take their eyes off the road to check essential information.

Unlike generic aftermarket displays, NeuroHUD was designed specifically for Tesla vehicles and integrates with Tesla systems via the Tesla API and direct visual access to the center screen.

    Installation is a breeze

One of NeuroHUD’s biggest selling points is the super-simple installation process.

Many aftermarket Tesla accessories require owners to remove trim pieces, tap into factory wiring, or make permanent modifications. NeuroHUD’s system is completely non-invasive.

    That means:

    • No trim removal
    • No factory wiring modifications
    • 100% warranty-safe installation

For Tesla owners who are protective of their vehicles and understandably cautious about warranty issues, that’s a big plus.

Two display modes in NeuroHUD PRO

The higher-end NeuroHUD PRO model adds one feature Tesla fans will probably appreciate: freely switchable display modes.

    Drivers can switch between:

    • Windshield projection mode – projects driving information directly onto the windshield in the driver’s line of sight
    • Combiner display mode – displays information on a dedicated transparent screen positioned above the dashboard

That flexibility lets users choose the setup that works best for their driving preferences, visibility conditions, or vehicle configuration.

    Built with Tesla owner feedback

NeuroHUD says it co-developed the product with the Tesla owner community over the past year and a half. Feedback from thousands of Tesla users helped shape the final product and its features.

A community-first approach makes sense for Tesla accessories, because owners tend to be very vocal about what works, what doesn’t, and what features they actually want in daily driving.

    Kickstarter pricing and what’s included

NeuroHUD is currently available through Kickstarter with early-backer pricing. Here’s what you get for each model:

    Why Tesla drivers are interested

NeuroHUD doesn’t change Tesla’s software experience; it makes important driving information easier to see while keeping drivers focused on the road.

And judging by the Kickstarter traction so far, many Tesla owners seem ready for a heads-up display that feels like it should’ve been there all along.
